Check with the SOS or GeauxVote app. The official Voter Portal lists 11/03/2026 as an upcoming election with closed party primary (Democratic and Republican) ballots; Louisiana began closed party primaries in 2026. An official SOS release dated April 30, 2026 is titled 'Louisiana U.S. House of Representatives Races Suspended'. Absentee rules were taken from the general SOS absentee page and the dates computed for Nov. 3.
From the Louisiana Secretary of State, Elections Division and other official state sources, checked Oct 7, 2026. Rules can change; the official office has the final word. Only eligible, registered voters may vote.
