Shall the Borough of Dumont retain Section 21-5(A) of the Borough Code, which prohibits parking on Borough streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from October 15 through April 15 of the following year?
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Tells the mayor and council you favor keeping the ban on parking on borough streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., Oct. 15 to April 15. The vote is advisory and does not bind the council.
A NO vote (No): Tells the mayor and council you favor changing the ordinance to allow overnight parking on borough streets in those months. The vote is advisory and does not bind the council.
From the official explanatory statement: Section 21-5(A) of the Dumont Borough Code currently prohibits parking on Borough streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from October 15 through April 15 each year. This public question is advisory only and is intended to determine voter sentiment regarding whether this seasonal overnight parking restriction should remain in effect. The results of this vote are non-binding upon the Mayor and Council. A vote of “YES” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are in favor of keeping the current ordinance, and in favor of prohibiting parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. A vote of “NO” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are not in favor of the current ordinance and in favor of changing the ordinance to allow for overnight parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Your vote will influence, but not bind the Borough of Dumont Mayor and Council to the majority vote.
Official ballot wording
Should the Borough consider conducting a deer cull by bow and arrow annually for three years for the purpose of managing the deer population?
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Tells the borough you favor considering a deer management program using professional bow hunters, once a year for three years. The vote is non-binding.
A NO vote (No): Tells the borough you oppose considering a bow-hunting deer cull. The vote is non-binding.
From the official explanatory statement: This public question asks whether the Borough should consider establishing a deer management program to address issues associated with the deer population within the Borough. The program would provide for a deer cull by use of controlled bow and arrow hunting by professional bow hunters, which is a management technique approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Supporters contend that deer management may reduce vehicle collisions, damage to vegetation, and impacts on local ecosystems. Opponents contend that lethal management methods are unnecessary or objectionable and that nonlethal alternatives should be used. This public referendum is non-binding.
Official ballot wording
Shall the Borough of New Milford continue the "New Milford Open Space, Recreation, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund" pursuant to Chapter 24 of the Public Law of 1997, funded through property tax assessments to be determined annually by the governing body of the Borough of New Milford, but at a rate not to exceed one cent per $100 of total municipal equalized real property valuation to provide monies for the following purposes to be determined by the governing body of the municipality only after at least one public hearing thereon:
a. Acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation purposes;
b. Development of lands acquired for recreation and conservation purposes;
c. Maintenance of lands acquired for recreation and conservation purposes;
d. Acquisition of farmland for farmland preservation purposes;
e. Historic preservation of historic properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas, or objects, and the acquisition of such properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas, or objects for historic preservation purposes;
f. Payment of debt service on indebtedness issued or incurred by a municipality for any of the purposes set forth in subparagraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) or (g);
g. Blue Acres projects.
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Tells borough officials you favor continuing the trust fund, paid for by a property tax of up to 1 cent per $100 of equalized valuation (about $10 per $100,000). The vote is non-binding.
A NO vote (No): Tells borough officials you do not favor continuing the trust fund. The vote is non-binding.
From the official explanatory statement: Approval of this non-binding measure will give the elected officials of the Borough of New Milford the sentiment of the voters concerning the continuation of a Trust Fund in which the Borough of New Milford will retain these funds to acquire land, improve recreation facilities, and preserve historic areas throughout the Borough, and to assist the municipality to acquire and improve outdoor recreational facilities. If approved, the Borough of New Milford may annually raise up to one cent per $100 of total Borough equalized property valuation each year to fund this Trust. At the maximum rate, property owners will be contributing $10 to the Trust Fund per $100,000 of assessed value. Funds generated through such means, and the interest or other income earned on monies deposited into the Trust Fund, shall be used only for the purposes of the Trust Fund.

Should the Oradell Public School District permanently increase the local annual school tax levy by $73,118.42 to fund an armed Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) at Oradell Public School, including coverage by a substitute officer during the SLEO's absences? The funding would be in addition to the amount needed to operate the District's educational program and meet the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Permanently raises the Oradell school tax levy by $73,118.42 a year to fund one armed Special Law Enforcement Officer at Oradell Public School, plus a substitute when needed. The district estimates about a 0.49% increase in school taxes for an average home.
A NO vote (No): The extra school tax for an armed officer is not approved.
From the official explanatory statement: A "Yes" vote authorizes the Oradell Board of Education to permanently increase the local school tax levy by $73,118.42 to fund one armed Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) assigned to Oradell Public School. The funding will cover the officer's salary, required payroll taxes, and the cost of providing a qualified substitute officer whenever the assigned SLEO is unavailable due to illness or other temporary absences. This will help ensure consistent coverage throughout the school year. The Borough of Oradell will cover training and equipment costs for the SLEO and any substitute officer assigned. For a home assessed at the Oradell Borough average, the estimated annual increase in school taxes would be approximately .49%.* A "No" vote means the additional funding would not be approved, and the District would not be authorized to increase taxes for this purpose. *Based on the proposed 2026-2027 school tax levy.
Official ballot wording
Shall the Borough of Park Ridge continue the Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust Fund to preserve the character of Park Ridge, through an annual levy of up to 0.007 per $100 of assessed valuation of real property for the purposes of protecting drinking water supplies and water quality in ponds and streams; conserving natural areas; developing, maintaining and acquiring lands for recreation and conservation, including the improvement of recreational facilities; and preserving and acquiring historic properties, with spending based on recommendations of a citizens oversight committee and all funds subject to annual audit.
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Continues the existing trust fund with a yearly levy of up to 0.007 per $100 of assessed value. The borough estimates the average owner pays about $33 a year. Spending is advised by a citizens committee and audited each year.
A NO vote (No): The trust fund and its levy are not continued.
From the official explanatory statement: This binding referendum will authorize the maintaining and continuing of the existing Municipal Open Space Trust Fund. The Municipal Open Space Trust Fund was previously approved by the voters of the Borough of Park Ridge on November 2, 2021, and therefore the approval of this referendum would not create a new tax burden on the residents of Park Ridge but simply continue and extend the previously approved Municipal Open Space Tax. This will permit Park Ridge to continue its Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust Fund with an annual levy of up to 0.007 cents per $100 of assessed real property value. The average owner would pay $33 per year, or approximately $2.75 per month, ensuring continued support for the Municipal Open Space Trust Fund and the community projects it finances, unless Park Ridge voters choose to modify or repeal the fund through a future referendum. Funds can be used only for the development, maintenance, and acquisition of lands for recreation and land and water conservation purposes, and historic preservation. An oversight committee of local citizens will continue to advise the Borough on how funds should be spent. Every year there would be a public audit of all expenditures. The funds would enable Park Ridge to leverage matching grants from the county and state.
Official ballot wording
Shall the Borough of Tenafly continue its Open Space Trust Fund which will be funded in the following manner for the following purposes:
A. The Open Space Trust Fund shall be funded through the collection of local property taxes in an amount of one cent ($.01) per one hundred ($100.00) dollars of assessed value per year for a period not to exceed ten (10) years, unless a proposition extending the same is approved by the voters.
B. These funds shall be designated for the acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation purposes and the development of lands acquired for such purposes.
C. If no lands are available for acquisition for these purposes, then the monies in said fund shall be used for other recreation, conservation, or historic preservation purposes as may be permitted by law, to be determined following a public hearing.
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Continues the open space tax at 1 cent per $100 of assessed value for up to 10 years, used to buy and develop land for recreation and conservation. The borough estimates about $78.50 a year for an average home.
A NO vote (No): The open space trust fund tax is not continued.
From the official explanatory statement: This binding referendum will extend the Open Space Trust Fund that had been approved by binding referendum on November 8, 2005. This fund collects a special municipal tax, the proceeds of which would be used for the acquisition and development of lands for recreation and conservation purposes. The tax would be collected for ten (10) years, and then expire, unless extended by approval of such a proposition by public vote. As an example, the owner of a house assessed at $785,000 (the Borough’s average) would pay an additional tax of approximately $78.50 per year for a period of ten (10) years. The total amount the tax would yield each year, depending on the total valuation of all homes in Tenafly, would be approximately $390,000 each year. If land is not available for acquisition for recreation or conservation purposes, then the monies in the fund would be used for recreation, conservation or historic preservation purposes as permitted by law after a public hearing.
Official ballot wording
Shall the Township of Wyckoff continue, maintain, and fund the existing Municipal Open Space Trust Fund through the collection of an annual tax levy in an amount not to exceed $0.01 (1 cent) per $100 of assessed valuation, to be used for: (1) Acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation purposes; (2) Development and maintenance of lands acquired for recreation and conservation purposes; (3) Acquisition of farmland for farmland preservation purposes; (4) Historic preservation of historic properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas, or objects, and the acquisition and maintenance of such properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas, or objects for historic preservation purposes; (5) Payment of debt service on indebtedness issued or incurred for such purposes; and (6) Blue Acres projects?
Choices: Yes / No
A YES vote (Yes): Continues the township's open space trust fund with a yearly levy of up to 1 cent per $100 of assessed value (about $486,930 a year at the full rate). It stays in effect until voters change or repeal it.
A NO vote (No): The open space trust fund levy is not continued.
From the official explanatory statement: This referendum would authorize the continuation of the Township of Wyckoff Municipal Open Space Trust Fund through the collection of an annual tax levy in an amount not to exceed $0.01 (1 cent) per $100 of assessed valuation. The proceeds of the Trust Fund may be used for open space acquisition and preservation, recreational and conservation purposes, farmland preservation, historic preservation, Blue Acres projects, and related debt service costs. The Trust Fund has been utilized by the Township to preserve and maintain open space, parks, athletic fields, recreational facilities, and historic properties, including the Zabriskie House and the Larkin House. The Township currently preserves and maintains approximately 152.04 acres of open space, including the approximately 21.04-acre former Maple Lake property acquired during the last five years. The authorization approved by this referendum shall remain in effect unless and until modified or repealed by future public referendum. Based upon the 2026 Tax List, the estimated annual revenue generated by the levy at the full 1 cent authorization would be approximately $486,930 annually.
